Slow Motion and High Speed Playback

Introduction

Playing media in slow motion or at high speed is very useful when analysing video images or moving through a media stream attempting to find a specific part of the content. THEOplayer now also offers these features and brings slowmotion and high speed playback capabilities to HLS VOD streams.

THEOplayer allows for the video playback speed to be changed to any positive number. Speeding up and slowing down audio is possible for playback rates between 0.5 and 4. For playback rates outside of this interval, audio will be muted.

Configuration options

For the configuration of playback rates in THEOplayer, the following configuration options are available:
